Shelf life in of chicken meat based products

Product: Fresh chicken. As i understand shelf life for a fresh chicken is 12 days i wish to increase it to 17 days. How to do it? Does anyone to know.

12 days shelf life of pristine fresh chicken meat stored in ambient..? Have you not thought of the high microbial count of such item.even when fresh..?
