Tahini halva

Tahini is made from.sesame seed which contains 23%carbohydrates itself.Halva is middle eastern confectionery product with lots of sugar which due to its syrupy and glassy structure also contributes to halva firm texture .

So tahini carbohydrates and others(sugar syrups) just play role in texture formation, sweeten and flavoring the halva or is there anyother role too?

It contributes to energy nutritionally...
