Which metals can be detect by metal detectors?

Hello everyone,

We use stainless steel, ferrous and nonferrous test kits to validate metal detectors.

So my questions is that what does mean nonferrous ? Which metals can be detect by metal detectors ? Can cobalt or zinc be detect by metal detectors ?
