I heard that British food safety agency …declaierd it toxic to eat seeds of apricots. however we are eating since childhood
I have not read about this but i do not think so. Apricot seeds are eaten safely in Turkey.
They are toxic when you eat too much amount of them because of the amygdaline content of them. I know this from my Toxicology class.
You can do debitterization of these seeds by ultrasonic waves. It would significantly reduce amygdalin.

In the same vein cassava root in the tropics also contain cyanoglycosides which are inactivated by cooking .
Is it dried, powdered and eaten? just curious to know, thanks
yes dried, powdered or whole. It tastes like as almond but a little bitter.
Also they are coated with chocolate, sugar or chocolate + sugar and made dragees as almond dragees. A cheap version of almond dragees
Apricot kernels are often added in cheaper marzipan paste to extend the more expensive almonds.
yes, that is also another way of their using.
kernels are mixed with almonds or kernel powder is mixed with almond powder for making adulteration.
Thank you so much, good to know those…Not so popular in our SEA region.
